US70: Tennessee US 70

From Carolina-to-California

Established in 1926 as one of the country’s original highways, US 70 was extended in 1934 to run “coast to coast”.

Today, US 70 is recognized as a popular route among motorcyclists for cross-state travel. From Memphis through Nashville and onto Knoxville, it offers engaging scenery, small towns, countryside views and friendly curves.

Within downtown Nashville, US 70 follows “lower Broadway” and passes in proximity to Nashville’s world famous Honky Tonk Row. Yes-ha!

NASHQUATCH™

Nashville’s Most Elusive Resident

Exactly where is this dude? Everywhere, that’s where! Our friend NASHQUATCH™ is as elusive as he is determined — he’s not just going places, he is going-it-alone. We’ve searched from the Smoky Mountains to Graceland… only to come away with grainy photos and big footprints.

Our design was inspired by that occasional hunger we all have to get away. Far-far-away… something NASHQUATCH™ seems to have really perfected!

But if you do see NASHQUATCH™ — perhaps waiting tables trying to make ends meet while pursuing his howling music career — please snap a picture and maybe have him sign your NASHQUATCH™ shirt… otherwise, nobody will believe you.

If You Know, You’re In

There is something just a little different about the State of Tennessee (10 S E)… the people, the music, the scenery & the wildlife… oh, and that whole Honky Tonk Row thang down on lower Broadway.

Here in Nashville, the locals wave or give that familiar head-nod, acknowledging one another, almost like a giant exclusive club.

Our 10 S E design was inspired to create a little mystery about what exactly makes Tennessee a little different. If you know, well then — you’re in.

TN‑1: Tennessee State Route 1

The Memphis to Bristol Highway

Designated in 1915 as the very first state highway in Tennessee, SR 1 runs 538 miles from the Arkansas state line at Memphis all the way to Bristol — the longest highway in the state.

By the late 1920s, the route had become part of the Broadway of America Highway, linking California to New York. Tennessee’s original road, gone coast to coast.

From the Mississippi lowlands through Nashville’s rolling hills and over the Cumberland Plateau into Appalachian East Tennessee, TN‑1 offers scenery and small-town character the interstates can’t match. In downtown Nashville, it follows Broadway itself — the heart of Honky Tonk Row. Tennessee’s first road. Still worth the drive.
